Each federal, cantonal and communal authority decides on how users can access their online services – for example, when requesting an official document or filling out a tax declaration.

Some cantons require the use of AGOV – the access platform of the Swiss authorities – via app or online portal.

Unlike with traditional methods, you don't need a username or password to connect to AGOV. You can verify your identity on your mobile phone using your fingerprints (biometric identification), or with a security key on your computer or tablet.

Once you have registered on the AGOV portal, you can use the same login for all other Swiss administrations that use this system.
