Emergency numbers in Switzerland

The most important emergency number in Switzerland, as in the EU, is 112. This general emergency number can be used in all emergency situations.

If you dial 112, you will be connected with the police emergency switchboard. You can also call this number using a foreign SIM card, or when using a prepaid mobile phone with no remaining credit.

There are other official emergency numbers. These can be called from a mobile phone or public telephone.
