    If you have lost or need to change your vehicle registration document, contact the driver and vehicle licensing office.

    If you have lost your vehicle registration document or it has been stolen, you can apply for a replacement document. Only the owner of the vehicle can apply for a replacement document.

    Requesting a replacement document

    You can order a replacement document from the

    Returning a replacement document

    If you find the original vehicle registration document, bring or send the replacement document back to the driver and vehicle licensing office.

    Fees

    A new vehicle registration document costs CHF 25 to CHF 50, depending on the canton. For more information, contact the driver and vehicle licensing office in your canton (website available in German, French and Italian).

    Notify the driver and vehicle licensing office within 14 days if you have a new address or your name has changed. Your vehicle registration document will be changed or replaced.
