Use one of the official ballots provided with the voting material. You can change it or leave it as is. Below are all the options available to you.
For your vote to count, be sure to:
use only an official ballot
write legibly by hand
choose only official candidates whose names appear on the pre-printed ballots
always write the first and surnames of the candidates in full, without forgetting the corresponding number; quotation marks and other words such as ‹same as above› are forbidden
not make comments or draw on the ballot or envelope
Follow the instructions and deadlines given by your canton and your commune. Put the completed ballot paper in the voting envelope or in the correct part of the voting envelope (canton of Solothurn) and sign the polling card (exception: canton of Basel-Stadt). Then, you can either:
vote by post using the mailing envelope provided,
put the envelope in the special mailbox of your commune, which is usually located at the city hall (please note, this is not possible in Valais) or
personally deposit the envelope at the ballot box by going to the polling station on election day.
