No need to submit a candidacy
The election in these cantons takes place according to the first-past-the-post system. However, unlike in other cantons with this system for elections to the National Council (Obwalden and Nidwalden), in Glarus, Uri, Appenzell Ausserrhoden and Appenzell Innerrhoden there is no procedure for submitting nominations: voters can elect anyone who is entitled to vote . In other words, you do not need to submit a candidacy application: any Swiss citizen who is entitled to vote is a potential candidate.
