Disqualification from driving

Drink-driving and driving over the speed limit puts other road users in danger. Such behaviour will result in a warning and fines, and you may even be banned from driving (for a long or short period of time).

The penalty you receive depends on the seriousness of the driving offence. The duration of the penalty depends on your driving record (past offences) and how dependent you are on your vehicle for your work.

If you commit a driving offence, you risk administrative consequences (warning, revocation of your licence) and prosecution (fines, financial penalties, imprisonment) and even civil law measures (e.g. recourse insurance claims).
