Disabled children at school

Measures tailored to children and young people with special educational needs are available to them throughout their school years.

Integrated schooling

The cantons are responsible for all academic, legal and financial aspects of educating children with special educational needs. These children attend mainstream primary and secondary school along with their peers, so far as it is possible for them to do so. Your commune’s education authority will be able to answer any questions you may have about your child’s education.

Special schools

Special schools take children with particular types of disability or learning and behavioural difficulties. Special schools admit children who require extra attention and facilities and cannot be integrated into mainstream schools.
