Authorisation

In most cases, no special authorisation or permit is required when setting up a business. The only exceptions relate to certain regulated areas at federal (healthcare professions) and cantonal (transport, etc.) levels. When conducting business activities, however, permits and authorisations may frequently be needed. Examples include authorisation to work at night or on Sundays, approval of plans, etc.

Permit database

The database on permits for SMEs and the regulated professions provided by the seco lists the permits that are required by the Confederation and the cantons and gives information on the authorities concerned.
