Hölloch in Muotathal
The Hölloch (Hell Hole), which is 190 km long, is one of the largest cave systems in the world and the largest in Europe. It was discovered in 1875, and has been accessible to the public for almost a century.
Landscape and Animal Park in Goldau
The Landscape and Animal Park lies in the middle of massive boulder-strewn area of Goldau. On roughly 17 hectares of natural wilderness, you can watch deer, wolves, bears, lynxes and birds of prey close up.
Seedamm arts centre in Pfäffikon
The Seedamm arts centre was founded in 1976 by businessman and patron Charles Vögele. Parallel to exhibition activities, the collection 'Moderne Kunst unserer Gegenwart' (modern art of our time) focusing on contemporary art was created.

Canton Schwyz
Tradition, culture, business friendliness, open-mindedness, customs, and quality of life: these are the terms closely associated with canton Schwyz. In addition, the canton boasts a beautiful countryside and is centrally located.Three dominant regions characterise canton Schwyz: Talkessel occupies the inner central area of the canton, the Höfe and March regions spread over the outer part of the canton and Einsiedeln and Ybrig are located inbetween. Canton Schwyz, which is surrounded by Lake Zurich, Lake Lucerne, Lake Zug and the Wägitaler Lake, covers an area of 908 km2, providing living and working space for a population of more than 140,000 people. Thanks to its central location and short distances to the major cities of Zurich, Lucerne and Zug, as well as its far-sighted financial and fiscal policy, canton Schwyz has developed at an impressive speed over the last few decades. Canton Schwyz’s diverse landscape, well developed infrastructure and wide selection of education and training opportunities provide a living space with a high quality of life.
Schwyz as a location for business is known for its small to medium-sized businesses and industrial firms. Business development within the canton can vary greatly. In addition to highly industrialised communes most of which are located in the outer part of the canton, there are other communes whose main source of income is farming, or to a large extent tourism and leisure activities. In recent years, a real industry of specialised financial service companies has developed in the outer part of the canton.
The canton’s capital and its surroundings boast a wealth of history including patrician houses, churches and abbeys, the Museum of Swiss Charters and the Forum of Swiss History. The Höfe and March regions feature cultural sites and landscapes, such as Ufenau Island, the Pfäffikon castle tower, the Leutschen, the Grynau tower and the Seedamm arts centre in Pfäffikon. The unique historical site of the Benedictine Abbey, the church and the abbey library in Einsiedeln is well-known for its art treasures and as an important place of pilgrimage in Europe. The entire canton thus offers a rich, traditional and varied cultural life.
Canton Schwyz is a place of natural beauty, featuring vast stretches of land, sheer cliffs, wild rivers and beautiful lakes, rolling hills and high alpine mountains. Schwyz boasts unique scenic landscapes such as the Karst Mountains and the Alpine Virgin Forest in the Muota Valley as well as the panoramic view from the Mythen, the Fronalpstock and the Rigi, also called “Queen of the mountains”. Schwyz also offers a wide selection of sports activities, including swimming, fishing, canoeing, rowing, sailing, golf, hiking, cycling, cross-country and downhill skiing to name just a few. Time flies on weekends and on holidays, especially in canton Schwyz!
